With the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, masking procedures and protocols at East Granby Family Practice will be changing. It is our utmost concern at EGFP to put the safety of our staff and patients first while continuing to offer medical care to all our patients. While we no longer will be requiring mask wearing in the building for all patients, those patients who are experiencing infectious symptoms, such as cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or fever must wear masks inside our building in common areas.
If, when calling for an appointment, you have infectious symptoms, you will be asked to stay in your vehicle upon arrival, and call 860-653-4526 before entering the building. A nursing staff member will meet you at one of our entrance doors and escort you in to the building.
If you feel uneasy about an in-office visit or recently had COVID, you may reschedule or request a telemedicine or virtual office visit, if allowed by your insurance. A record of this visit will be maintained in the chart and appropriate virtual office visit billing will be submitted to insurance as allowed. Please call the office for further information.
Our office uses secure HIPAA compliant programs: either doxy.me or doximity.com. This is similar to doing face time on your phone, but uses a secure connection. You will need a computer (that uses Chrome, Firefox or Safari browser) or an Android (that uses Chrome) or an iPhone or iPad (that uses Safari). Your device needs to have the ability to receive e-mail, have a working camera and microphone. The connection works well. Be sure that if using android, iPhone or iPad that, in "settings", find your browser, then find "camera" and set it to "allow" or "ask" to turn on the camera. Also, be sure that your computer browser supports your camera.
